“I Can Hardly See”: Judi Dench Suffers From an Incurable Disease, But Is Not Going To Leave The Cinema Yet!
Judi Dench, who is 88 years old, is famous for her role in James Bond movies. She gave an interview to The Mirror’s Notebook magazine where she said she’s not ready to stop acting. However, due to health reasons, she can’t read anymore. She’s also not eager to receive more Oscar awards because she wants to work less.
Judi mentioned that she has difficulty seeing on set and can’t read anymore. She’s trying to cope with it and finds it hard to remember long lines for her roles. She hasn’t found a solution to this problem yet.
In 2012, Judi was diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration, an eye condition that’s common in people over 50. It affects central vision and can’t be reversed. A few years ago, she had to stop driving because her eyesight was getting worse.
Last year, she talked about her health issues on BBC’s Louis Theroux show. Because of her eyesight, she faces challenges in daily life. Even during dinner with her partner, she needs help to see her food on the plate.
Despite her eyesight problems, she doesn’t want to retire. She’s limited in what she can do because of her eyes, which she finds frustrating.
Judi Dench has been in the entertainment industry for 60 years, starting in 1957. She made her film debut in 1964 and her career took off with a role in the movie “The Third Secret.” She won an Oscar for her role in “Shakespeare in Love” in 1999 and has received a Tony Award as well.
