Stories from the Set of “On the Golden Lake”: Jane Fonda Reminisces About Her Encounter With Young Michael Jackson!
Jane Fonda, a renowned Hollywood legend at 85 years old, has had the privilege of knowing many famous actors and performers throughout her career.
Recently, she decided to reminisce about her experience with the iconic Michael Jackson. Their paths crossed on the set of the film “On the Golden Lake,” where Jane Fonda starred alongside her father, Henry Fonda.
A young Michael Jackson and the legendary actress Katharine Hepburn were also part of the film. Surprisingly, Michael Jackson was only 22 years old at the time, already displaying a deep passion for the film industry.
Jane Fonda recalls how Michael Jackson was eager to learn more about the film industry and would constantly approach her for advice. However, it was Katharine Hepburn who truly captivated the young superstar. Initially, Hepburn held prejudices due to Jackson’s skin color, but as she got to know him better, her opinion changed.
Recognizing his immense talent, Hepburn would sit him down and share hours of instructive stories, which Michael absorbed like a sponge. She advised him to always remain hungry and maintain depth in his work.
During their time together on the film set, Jane Fonda couldn’t resist sharing a memorable and slightly provocative incident involving Michael Jackson. On a beautiful moonlit night, the young Jackson proposed swimming in the lake, completely naked.
Without hesitation, he stripped down in front of Fonda, who remembers him as a very thin individual. Fonda speculates that deep down, Jackson had an inkling he would have a short life and perhaps anticipated that she would eventually reveal this juicy story to the public. It’s worth noting that Michael Jackson tragically passed away in 2009 at the age of 50.
