Trying to save the life of a 200-pound baby elephant, a ranger carries it on his shoulders through the forest
People can do selfless sacrifices for animals in need. A great example is this forest guard who saved a life of a baby elephant by carrying it on his shoulders to safety. The pictures of him went viral on the internet.
The 28-year-old ranger Palanichamy Sarathkumar was going home after a night shift when he was informed about an animal who blocked a road. He and his colleagues helped the elephant find his way to the woods. But minutes later he realized why it was in distress.
At that moment he noticed a baby elephant trapped in a ditch. It was too weak and was not able to walk. The man did something impossible. He lifted it and carried it to safety.
It weighed more than him and everybody was shocked to see him be able to lift such a heavy animal.
The kind man couldn’t leave the confused and helpless creature alone. It all happened on the spur of the moment.
The 186lbs man carried the 220lbs calf to safety where it was able to reunite with its mother.

Ranger said that at first, the four of them carried it.
He said, “But there was a danger of being attacked as she was still nearby. So I decided to carry the calf by myself across the road”.
