Woman wanted to adopt one dog from shelter, but adopted three! Read the wonderful story of these dogs
Last week, Shelley Blount from North Carolina saw a post about a dog that was to be euthanized. The woman immediately called the shelter. But fortunately it turned out that the dog had just been adopted.
At that moment, she thought about other dogs that might be in this situation. Thus, she clarified that the dog named Caleb would be the next on the list of euthanasia. But she couldn’t let that happen.
Determined to save this dog, Blount and his friend drove from Virginia to the shelter for about 4 hours. Upon arriving at the shelter, Blount learned that two other dogs were to be euthanized too. She already had 3 resque dogs at home and she could not adopt more than one.
But there was no other choice, either all three would return home with her, or the other two would be euthanized.
But there was no other choice, or all three would return home with her, or the other two would be euthanized. Blount, who had only expected to leave with Caleb, left with Caleb, Charisma, and Bella.
Blount knew she had done the right thing. She could not allow any of the dogs to be euthanized. It would not be fair.
All three dogs were very excited and happy- Caleb was very excited, he quickly wagged his tail, Bella did not want to get off my friend’s knees, and Charisma slept all the way lying on me.
Blount knew she couldn’t leave them at the sanctuary for euthanasia, but she also didn’t have room at home for three more dogs – but thankfully, within a few days, she had already found good families for Caleb and Bell.
“Caleb was adopted by my friend, and Bella was adopted by my boyfriend”, the woman said.
Blount decided to keep Charisma because this cute little dog was pregnant, as it became clear after the veterinary examination.
Nobody at the shelter said the dog was pregnant. Thus, she saved not only Charisma, but also the lives of her future puppies.
“Charisma is a very sweet dog. She likes to sit near me and sleep on my knees. It is clear that she is grateful to me for saving her and her puppies”, Blount said.
Charisma will give birth in a week. And she is very happy in her new family.
