Why do we need pets in the house? – Yes, we need pets to love and caress them. Our four-legged friends create warmth and comfort in our homes.

This is a rather unusual story about a cat that was given to the shelter by his owners. The reason is that the cat is very dependent on human attention. He must constantly be in the spotlight.

This well-fed handsome redhead cat named Jacques from Montreal (Canada) was given by his own owners to the local shelter “Michigan Cat Rescue”. Being too tame he wanted to sit on the owner’s laps.

“All Jacques wanted was to sit in a warm place on the owner’s body. But they didn’t want that. They didn’t want to cuddle with him and didn’t want to have such a cat in the house,” says one of the Michigan Cat Rescue employees.

Jacques spent a whole year in the shelter and they could not find a new family for him. Even at the orphanage, Jacques desperately sought human companionship and was always ready to curl up on the workers’ laps.

The shelter staff decided to hold a campaign on their Facebook page. They published a photo and story of Jacques, mentioning that he is very tame and affectionate, and because of this, did not please the old owners.

People were amazed and outraged that someone could abandon a cat for such a reason. The post had more than 1200 comments and got over 2600 likes. People wanted Jacques to find a new family as soon as possible and offered themselves as a new owners for him.

Two weeks later, the shelter staff finally chose a new owner for Jacques, a woman named Liz. The woman with her family came to the shelter for the cat. Liz immediately took him in her arms. Jacques happily sat on Liz’s laps and hugged her, purring loudly.

The cat fell in love with the new family. He especially liked Liz’s 3-year-old grandson who gave the cat a new name, Joe!
