“This Boy Will Inspire You.” 10-Year-Old Legless Skateboarder Who Does The Impossible
A few years ago, a tragic incident occurred that captured the attention of people all over the world. A mother left her six-month-old son, Maksimka, alone at home while she went for a walk. A fire broke out, and the child suffered severe burns, resulting in the amputation of both his legs. As a result, the mother lost her parental rights, and Maksimka was sent to a baby house. At the age of two, he was adopted by a family from St. Petersburg who began to fundraise for his artificial limbs, eventually raising around 4.5 million rubles.
As Maksimka grew up, he developed a deep interest in skateboarding. His foster mother, Inna Lallav, remembers buying him his first plastic skateboard when he was still young.
As he got older, he began attending training sessions with Pavel Mushkin, the president of the city skateboarding federation. Pavel introduced Maksimka to skateboarding legends from around the world, inspiring him to pursue his passion.
Two years ago, Maksimka met Nick Vuychich, who became a great source of support and motivation for him. Nick encouraged Maksimka to believe in himself and his abilities, telling him that he is beautiful just the way he is. Thanks to his hard work and dedication, Maksimka has achieved a lot in skateboarding. He has participated in competitions, won awards, and given demonstration performances at city events.
Maksimka dreams of participating in the Olympics someday and winning gold or silver medals. He trains every day and travels the world with his family, always carrying his skateboard with him. He has even caught the attention of skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, who posted a video of Maksimka on his social media page with the caption, “New favorite skater.” Maksimka has also started his own social media page, where he shares photos and videos of his training and competitions with over 44,000 followers.
Maksimka’s story is a testament to the human spirit’s resilience and the power of pursuing one’s passions. Despite the challenges he has faced, Maksimka has found joy and fulfillment in skateboarding, inspiring others to believe in themselves and their abilities.
