The 10-year-old Labrador adopted nine orphaned ducklings giving them the parental love they need
Family is the most important part of our lives. We define a family as a group of two or more people relates by birth.
But this is not absolute and even a family can be formed with members belonging to different species.
In Mountfitchet Castle Jo and Jeremy rescue many animals in need. Their dog Fred is an adorable Labrador who always took care of the other animals and guarded them.
Once nine ducklings were found wandering around without their mother. The rescue staff tries to find the mother all failed, so they assumed she became prey for a fox.
They couldn’t leave those babies alone in the wild, so they took them into the family.
The minute Fred saw the ducklings, he showered them in love and attention.
They follow him everywhere and think of him as their dad. They eat, sleep, and even swim in the pond together.
Fred was a parental figure for the ducklings which helped them overcome the loss of their mother more easily.
This lovely family proved once more that family is unconditional love and support no matter what.
