For almost half a century Rhea has been at the Indian circus. If it weren’t for the rescuers she would ost probably still be at the circus. After she was rescued she was reunited with her sister.
It took the rescuers quite a long time and a lot of effort to get legal permission to get Rhea. They claim that seeing the poor elephant in that circus broke their heart.

They finally were able to free the elephant in 2015. They took her back home and arranged a reunion with her family.
She spent so many years in that circus, chained and tortured. The vet claimed that she was in very bad condition after she inspected her.
After the rescuers made sure that she was alright, they brought her to the Elephant car center. As soon as she arrived the other elephants greeted her and they became some sort of friends.
The bond between them was very special.

After having a poor diet for 53 years Rhea finally ate delicious food there.
After years of captivity, she is finally living her best life.
