Animal gratitude! A penguin travels thousands of kilometers every year to see its savior
In 2011, a 71-year- old fisherman, João Pereira de Sus, found an exhausted penguin on the beach, located near the city of Rio de Janeiro.
The animal was covered with a viscous dark liquid. The penguin had fallen into an oil slick in the ocean and was dying. João took the little penguin home and cured. The fisherman and the penguin became friends and became very attached to each other. The penguin was named Dindim. He was very grateful to the fisherman and expressed his gratitude with love and attention to his savior. Once Dindim was fully recovered the fisherman let him go.
However a couple of months later Dindim surprised his savior by coming back. João did not expect the penguin to return.
Now every year the months from June to February, the penguin spends with its savior, and then returns to the place of its natural habitat and reproduction – the coasts of Argentina and Chile.
The penguin trusts the man very much, he climbs to his lap, allows himself to be washed. Perhaps the penguin considers the man a member of his family. The penguin even expresses his emotions when he sees him – wags its tail with all its might and emits a joyful cry. Just like a dog!
Once again, animals prove to us that they are endowed with something greater – spiritual qualities!
